Monetary Compromise

This question over free silver is an issue that should be dealt with, I believe, with the utmost caution. By agreeing to the free coinage of silver, this country will be providing those from the lower and working classes with the opportunity to increase their economic status. At the same time however, we would also risk upsetting the already established economy that we have struggled so many years to stabilize. So I believe that neither of these solutions would be ultimately beneficial or successful for the country. Instead, I propose a compromise. The government should consider accepting a limited amount of silver to be coined, thus benefiting the hard working laborers, while simultaneously keeping the current economic system relatively intact.
